Mayly Tao

MAYLY TAO

Starting off from humble beginnings being born into donut royalty as a “donut kid” to DK’s Donuts & Bakery, her family’s donut shop, Mayly Tao  had dreams of taking donuts to a whole new level. Being the great-niece related to Ted Ngoy, known as the Donut King, who was responsible for sponsoring and leasing hundreds of donut shops to Cambodian refugees, she proudly took on the title of “Donut Princess” when she stepped back into helping her family after college.

Mayly is the host of her own podcast, Short N’ Sweet: A Donut Princess Podcast that aims to promote women empowerment, the second generation immigrant experience, and entrepreneurship. She loves sharing golden nuggets with her audience to inspire them to reinvent themselves or to explore their dreams via their careers. She started the podcast to amplify AAPI voices because of the lack of representation and topics in mainstream media.
